The Land Use Planning Committee was formed at the end of 2020 as a result of concerns identified while working to update the Town of Oakland Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The Town Board wanted to assure that due diligence was exercised when reviewing applications for Conditional Use Permits (CUPs) and/or requests for rezoning within the Town of Oakland. The Committee is compromised of five volunteer property owners, four of which are full time residents of the Town of Oakland. Current members are: Don Hamilton, Chair; Chuck Peck, Jim McDonough, Robert Morehouse and Steve Pearson.
The links below will open documents providing additional information regarding the intentions of the Committee (Charter), the steps taken by the Committee to review applications and the timing required (Land Use Flowchart), an explanation of the requirements of the application process (Notice to Town of Oakland Landowners) and the applications (Application-Petition for Rezone) and Conditional Use Permit Application).
