Referendum Election Details
At an election to be held in the Town of Oakland, Burnett County, Wisconsin, on April 5, 2022, the following proposed Advisory Referendum, will be submitted to a vote of the people:

The questions will appear on the ballot as follows:
Question #1
“The current town hall has minimal heat, no water, no restrooms….
Do you feel the Town Board should explore the construction of a new town hall to include office space, a meeting area, and a stall large enough to accommodate one or two firetrucks?”

“The Township currently has four campgrounds…
Do you support the establishment of any new campgrounds within the Township?”

Question #3
“The Township currently has four campgrounds…
Do you support expansion of any of the current campgrounds?

Explanation
This is an information gathering referendum intended to help the Town Board determine the direction the Voters of the Township would like the Board to take on these two issues.
A “yes” vote on Question #1 will direct the Town Board, with the aid of the Land Use Planning Committee, to conduct an in-depth study to determine the cost of building a new Town Hall.
A “yes” vote to Question #2 will direct the Town Board to continue to consider the establishment of new campgrounds and/or expansion of existing campgrounds in the Township. A “no” vote will take the establishment of new and/or expansion of existing campgrounds off the table.
A “yes” vote to Question #3 will direct the Town Board to continue to consider the expansion of existing campgrounds in the Township. A “no” vote will take the expansion of existing campgrounds off the table.
